Doreen Granpeesheh, PhD, BCBA-D

Founder & Executive Director

Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh has devoted over 30 years to the study and treatment of autism spectrum disorders and is recognized as a leading expert in the field. Dr. Granpeesheh earned her doctorate in psychology from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is a licensed psychologist in California, Texas, and Arizona, as well as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Granpeesheh contributed to the first major autism treatment study under the direction of Dr. Ivar Lovaas. The study was published in 1987 and revealed remarkable improvements in participants who received early, intensive applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment. In 1990, Dr. Granpeesheh established the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD), which is now among the world's largest and most experienced organizations providing ABA-based intervention to children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders.


Adel Najdowski, PhD, BCBA-D

Director

Dr. Adel Najdowski is a primary contributor to the development of the Skills® program. She received her PhD in behavior analysis from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a National Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D). Dr. Najdowski has worked with children and their families affected by autism using ABA-based intervention since 1995 in school-based, home-based, center-based, and workshop settings. She has taught multiple undergraduate and graduate level courses in psychology and serves on the editorial boards of the journals Behavior Analysis in Practice and the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. She has authored 26 publications and over 80 conference presentations. Her current research interests in autism include teaching higher level skills, assessment and curriculum design, evaluation of procedures used in behavioral intervention programs, and feeding disorders.


Evelyn Kung, MA, BCBA

Sr. Content Development Supervisor

Evelyn Kung is a primary contributor to the development of the Skills® curriculum and also serves as the Chief Clinical Director at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD), wherein she oversees the clinical work of supervisors across 20 offices worldwide and participates in the development of clinical methodology used at CARD. Evelyn is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Biochemistry / Cell Biology and holds an MA in Psychology from Pepperdine University. She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2004 and has been working with children and young adults diagnosed on the autism spectrum for over 20 years. She has traveled across the U.S. and around the world training and designing effective programs for families, children and professionals. Evelyn lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband and two children.



Carolynn Bredek, MA, BCBA

Sr. Content Development Supervisor


Carolynn Bredek is a primary contributor to the development of the Skills® curriculum and also serves as the Clinical Manager for the San Juan Capistrano office of the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD). Carolynn is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Psychology and holds an MA in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2011 and has been working with individuals on the autism spectrum since 1992 providing a variety of services including clinical supervision, consultation, staff training, and program development. She has traveled across the U.S. and around the world training and designing effective programs for families, children and professionals. Carolynn lives in Orange County, California with her husband and three children.


Kathy Thompson, MA, BCBA

Sr. Content Development Supervisor

Kathy Thompson is the primary author of the Direct Staff eLearning series produced by the Institute for Behavioral Training (IBT) and a contributor to the development of the Skills® curriculum. She earned her MS in education from California State University, Fullerton and holds a multiple subject professional clear teaching credential and a moderate-severe disabilities education specialist teaching credential in the state of California. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has been working in the field of behavior analysis with individuals on the autism spectrum since 1989. She began her career at the UCLA Young Autism Project under the supervision of Dr. Ivar Lovaas and began working at CARD in 1993 serving in a variety of roles including clinical supervision, consultation, staff training, and program development.



Dennis Dixon, PhD

Director of Analytics

Dr. Dennis Dixon currently serves as the director of analytics for Skills®. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2006 with his doctorate in clinical psychology with a focus on developmental disabilities. Following graduate school, he served a research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Dixon has taught multiple graduate-level courses in psychology and behavior analysis and currently serves as faculty in the behavior analysis program at The Chicago School in Los Angeles. He serves on the editorial boards of Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Research in Developmental Disabilities and has published numerous research studies and book chapters on topics such as assessment development and evaluation, early intensive behavioral intervention for autism, and diagnostic practices in autism spectrum disorders.


Jonathan Tarbox, PhD, BCBA-D

Content Development Contributor

Dr. Jonathan Tarbox is a contributor to the development of the Skills® program and the primary author of the Behavior Intervention Plan Builder within it. He also serves as executive director of Autism Research Group and the director of Research and Development at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD). Dr. Tarbox is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral, and he received his PhD in behavior analysis from the University of Nevada, Reno. His early career included positions at the New England Center for Children and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Tarbox has over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters in scientific texts, and articles in popular media. Dr. Tarbox's areas of emphasis in research include behavioral approaches to complex language and cognition, the role of technology in treatment and training, and randomized controlled trials of autism treatment. Dr. Tarbox currently serves on the board of editors of The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, Behavior Analysis in Practice, and Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders and is affiliate faculty at the Chicago School for Professional Psychology.
